Day 1. Athens- Corinth Canal (stop)- Ancient Corinth (stop) - Mycenae (visit of the Lions Gate, the Tomb of Atreus and the remains of the Royal Palace) -Nauplia- Epidauros( visit to the ancient theater with 15,000 seats, still in use today) Dinner and overnight in Nauplia or nearby seaside resort Tolos. Day 2. Nauplia- Herodus Atticus Villa( ongoing excavations with the largest number of mosaics from Roman times ever discovered in Greece)- Loukos Monastery (visit and picnic)-Tegea (visit)- Tripolis-Vytina/ Stemnitsa. Dinner in a local taverna with local Greek specialties- overnight in small traditional hotel in a scenic mountain village. Day 3. Vytina/Stemnitsa- Dimitsana (visit to the open -air folklore Water Power Museum) -Stop for lunch in Stemnitsa with very good Greek cuisine and delicious sweets. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner /overnight in Vytina/or Stemnitsa. Day 4. Vytina/Stemnitsa- drive to ancient Olympia (2 hours)- Visit to the unique museum with famous artworks and sculptures, and the site of the Sanctuary of Zeus with the ancient Olympic Stadium where the original Olympic Games took place. Lunch and free time in Olympia. Day 5. From Vytina along a scenic mountainous drive to Kalavrita.On the way optional visit of the Cave of the Lakes. In Kalavrita visit the Monastery of Mega Spilion. Afternoon free for hiking in the area of Helmos. Dinner/overnight in a traditional hotel in the heroic town of Kalavrita. Day 6. Kalavrita, Aigion, Agios Nikolaos, Galaxeidi, Itea, Delphi, Arachova(Delphi region) Morning free or visit the historic Monastery of Agia Lavra. Around 11.20 am, catch the cog railway for a very scenic ride through the Vouraikos Gorge (1h10'ride). From Diakofto drive to Aigion for lunch break. Catch the 3.30p.m ferry boat to Agios Nikolaos (1h ride) cross the Corinthian Golf. On the way to Delphi/Arachova optional stop at the pictoreque seaside resort of Galaxidi. Dinner/overnight in Hotel Xenia or Anemolia in Arachova (scenic mountain village 7 miles from Delphi, with excellent cheese, feta cheese and red wine) Day 7. Arachova- Delphi (visit the site of the ancient oracle - the navel of the ancient world- and its museum with the famous bronze statue of the Charioteer and other art work) After lunch 2 hours drive back to Athens via Levadia.
